There is No One Golden Niche

The first thing to keep in mind is that there is no one, single perfect niche.

Yes, some niches have higher traffic potential than others. And yes, other niches have higher commissions per sale. But the thing to keep in mind is that neither of these factors mean that the niche is perfect.

Not to get into heady economic theory or anything, but the niches that are “better” than others tend to be weighed down with more competition, which means that there’s a large scale ‘smoothing out’ of the opportunity to competition spectrum.

The flip side, however, is that there are tons of niches that have excellent potential. So don’t worry about finding the “perfect niche,” just find a good niche and start building out your business.

Affiliate Marketing Opportunities Are Everywhere

Once you get that you’re not looking for perfection, you’ll start to realize that opportunities are everywhere.

If you’re trying to brainstorm good niches, just think about your own past behavior. Chances are you belong to at least a dozen (and probably more!) possible user groups that buy things online.

  • What were your last few purchases online?
  • What do you do in your spare time?
  • What might others buy in relation to your interests?

Chances are, if you would purchase something, other people with similar interests would too. If you still can’t come up with something, check out these free niche ideas.

The Most Profitable Sites Aren’t Sexy

Finally, it’s important to remember that many of the best affiliate marketing opportunities aren’t sexy.

By this I mean that a lot of people want to write about something that sounds cool, has high commissions, or is otherwise in vogue.

This can be a terrible mistake because these niches tend to have higher competition. You could wind up frustrated with little results to show for your work!

Stick to what you know, and it’s ok if it isn’t overly exciting. Most of our normal purchases are “boring” …right? That’s also where there’s money to be made.
