super_wealthy_affiliateWhen I first started out with internet marketing everything looked like a scam. There are tons ofprograms out there promising to teach you the secret to earning money, and it can be hard to separate out the good from the bad.

One of the best programs I’ve seen is Wealthy Affiliate University, a comprehensive training platform for building long-term, sustainable online businesses.

Long-term and sustainable are key: I’m in this for the long-haul, and promises to “Earn $X in 1 month” don’t appeal to me one bit.

When I came across the wealthy affiliate site I had the same questions I asked myself about every program I looked at: “What are they promising?” and, more importantly, “Does Wealthy Affiliate Work?”

Setting Expectations

In order to answer that question, you first need to consider, what, exactly, you’re looking to get out of the program. This first step – identifying your goals and expectations – is crucial before signing up for any training course.

It’s important to understand that Wealthy Affiliate is not a get rich quick scheme.

Many people interested in earning money online are looking for some magical, easy way to earn thousands of dollars practically overnight. Wealthy Affiliate makes no such promises, and I’d argue that just about any program that does promise that is a scam.

Instead, you should set your expectations in terms of how much you have to invest in your project, regardless of whether that investment is time or money. If you’re looking for an established method that will earn income over time, then Wealthy Affiliate may be right for you.

It’s also important to remember that the overwhelming majority of people that fail at online ventures do so because they give up after only a few months. In the “traditional” business world, it’s almost unheard of to start a company and earn significant profits within the first year. Most businesses are in the red for the first several years of their existence.

Affiliate marketing is similar. You should not expect to see significant returns for at least the first 6 months of your new website. It takes time to write content, gain a following, and develop search engine karma. Over time, however, it is more than reasonable that you’ll begin to see a strong return on your investment.

Does Wealthy Affiliate Work?

So all in all, does wealthy affiliate work? I know that when I was just starting out I was skeptical of purchasing anything to do with making money online. I was convinced I could figure it all out myself and didn’t need to ‘waste my money’ on programs, courses, and tutorials.

Instead, I wasted several years and thousands of dollars making my own mistakes. In hindsight, I wish I had joined a strong support network and training program like Wealthy Affiliate much earlier than I did.

So, at the end of the day, is Wealthy Affiliate worth it? Given the quality of the trainings, the strength of the membership community, and the fact that you can get started for free using Wealthy Affiliate to work from home, I’d say the answer is a resounding yes!

But before you join, you should read the Wealthy Affiliate Review, which provides more details on what’s included in the program and whether it’s right for you.
