Ready to get started earning money online but don’t know where to start?how to create a website for affiliate marketing

If so this post is for you. I’ll provide a complete walkthrough of how to create a website for affiliate marketing.

Please note that some aspects of this post are specific to setting up a site for affiliate marketing purposes. If you’re looking for a guide to setting up a new website using WordPress that’s not specific to affiliate marketing, read this post.

If you’d rather follow along with a video tutorial, you can find a free introductory course that includes website setup here.

How To Create A Website For Affiliate Marketing

That Name/Domain/URL Thingy…

The first step you should go through is to choose a domain.

This process assumes that you already know what your website is going to be about. If not, then you might read this guide first.

When you’re getting your first domain, try not to get bogged down in all of the technical details. It doesn’t really matter which company you use for a registrar, and you don’t need to purchase any “extras” when buying your domain.

You can click here to get your domain through GoDaddy.

The Easiest Way for New Affiliates

At this point, you now have two options to proceed.

The easiest way to get setup is to signup for the Wealthy Affiliate free Basic Membership. There’s a website builder included that lets you install WordPress with all of the right affiliate-related plugins “out of the box” so you don’t have to worry about setup and configuration.

If you didn’t buy a domain during the last step, the free membership also includes 2 SiteRubix domains and hosting, but you’re eventually going to want your own unique url anyway, which is why I listed that first.

You can “point” your domain to your website by updating your GoDaddy name server to the address listed on your account page. It will look something like XXX.XXX.EXAMPLEDOMAIN.COM.

An Alternative Option

If you don’t go the Wealthy Affiliate route, you’re going to need to purchase hosting from another provider. Arvixe and Dreamhost are two of my top recommendations, but again, most of the big players will provide all the services you need, and the basic packages are more than enough to handle your new website.

You can see an example of how to get setup with Arvixe here.

I hope that helps you create your new affiliate website. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck with your new business!
