Yeah, how to earn money on the side without busting your butt, yeah, we get it. There are a ton of ways to make a little extra money: you can get a second job, sell your old crap on eBay, or build the next Facebook.

Ok, so maybe only two of those are actually somewhat likely. But the point is: money is everywhere, if you’re willing to work for it. The trick is to figure out how to earn money on the side without selling your soul.

I spent years trying to figure this out, and ultimately found that the best way to pick up a little cash on the side was to learn affiliate marketing.

Here’s why:

Complete Freedom

The first reason that I think this is a good option is because running your own website gives you complete freedom over where and how you work.

The tasks you need to do in order to be successful are easy to break down into 15 or 30 minute chunks, and as long as you have an internet connection you’re good to go.

That means that it’s something that you can easily work towards in small increments, whether you have a few hours every Saturday or 30 minutes on your lunch break.

It also means that there’s no dealing with angry customers or worried clients, and no boss breathing down your neck every step of the way. You have only yourself to report to (or to blame…), so you’re in total control.

You Get What You Give

Of course, not having to work your a** off doesn’t mean that you don’t have to work at all. Affiliate marketing is a business where you get what you give.

That’s great because it means you can build up a consistent revenue stream on just a few hours a week, as long as you know what you’re doing and can make sure that you work efficiently and effectively.

While getting to that point might take a little practice, it’s definitely doable, and you’ll be able to grow your income steadily over time.

No Experience Necessary

Finally, one of the best parts about affiliate marketing is that there’s absolutely no experience necessary in order to be successful.

Whatever your previous background is, you could apply it to a niche online. Or, if you’re fed up with what you already know, there are plenty of affiliate who make a full time living blogging about learning to do new things.

Wherever you are, whatever you’re interested in, you can leverage your knowledge, interests, or hobbies into an extra income stream.
