It is possible to build a profitable blog in any niche, as long as you lay the right foundation for your site.
No, I’m not talking about nitty gritty technical details that you need, I’m talking about developing a simple strategy from Day 1 that will make sure you’re on the road to success.
How To Build A Profitable Blog
It’s All About Content
Blogging is all about producing good content consistently.
Let me break down that statement a little.
Good content is important because it’s going to be what draws your readers in. This helps you maintain a low bounce rate and encourage multiple page views per session, as well as engage with your readers that allows them to comment, share, and return to your blog for more!
Consistent content is important because this, along with user activity, will help to establish your blog as an authority within your niche. Whether you post 3 times a week or 3 times a day, having a clear posting schedule helps keep your blog at the top of the heap.
You Need A Revenue Strategy
Far too many beginning bloggers start a website without having a clear revenue strategy in place.
While some might get lucky and strike it rich anyway, the reality is that 80% of bloggers never earn $100 online.
Those that do know how they’re going to earn their money before they start their blog, or at least have a good idea.
Putting Google Adsense in your posts is NOT a good revenue strategy. Affiliate marketing, product sales, or some other type of business partnership is.
You Need To Pay Attention To Keywords
When it comes to blogging, if you want any real traffic you’re going to need to pay attention to the keywords that you use and target within your posts.
This doesn’t mean that every article is geared towards a keyword, but at least some need to be. While you won’t rank for every keyword you target, you’ll at least be hedging your bets, making it more likely that you’ll get more traffic.
And we all know more traffic equals more money…most of the time.
