The first area to consider when leveraging data is in terms of meta-level trends that happen with blogs and other sites.
Basically, as long as you create a web presence and consistently work to improve, update, and add new content to that presence, you’re going to gain authority in the search engines.

Sound too easy?
The reason behind this is simple: most blogs and new websites stop producing new content before they reach the 6 month mark.
If you can surpass that (something I call “getting out of the sandbox”) then you’ll be statistically likely to appear more often in search and generate astounding traffic levels.
Market and Keyword Research
The second data point you can use to back your bet comes from market and keyword research.
There are thousands upon thousands of low hanging fruit keywords that have a strong ratio between the number of searches and the level of competition. Most people don’t understand just how powerful this concept is.
It’s not hard to build a list of these keywords and then start knocking them off one by one.
You’re practically guaranteed substantial traffic as a result.
Money, Money, Money!
Finally, you need to leverage your own data about how to make money.
This is data that you get from your own site, not out in the blogosphere, and has to do with how you analyze your users’ behavior and place your “money links.”
While we all start our websites with certain assumptions about what the user wants and what he’ll do to get it, more often than not our initial guesses turn out to be sub-optimal…or even flat out wrong.
Figure out your user trends. Then give them exactly what they want.
