golden affiliate marketing ruleThere are lots of great programs out there, like Wealthy Affiliate or Affilorama, that can teach you all you would ever want to know about affiliate marketing.

But, to be successful there’s really only one affiliate marketing rule you need to follow.

In this post I’ll show you how you make this rule work for you.

The Golden Affiliate Marketing Rule

I call this rule the golden affiliate marketing rule because it resembles the historical golden rule we all learned about as kids.

The traditional version is: Do unto others what you would have others do unto you.

In other words, what goes around comes around, and you need to make sure you’re contributing positively to the world.

The same is true for affiliate marketing.

My golden affiliate rule is: Only write content you would actually want to read.

What It Means

It’s tempting, especially when you’re just beginning, to try to spin off content just for the sake of creating new content.

You write lots of promotional material, but it’s mostly BS, not real, high quality work.

This is a trap many beginners fall into because they think about their affiliate blog as a sales website, rather than a place for helpful information.

This, in part, is due to a few misconceptions about what internet marketers do, but it’s also based on a drive to succeed as quickly as possible.

The Golden Affiliate Rule Helps You Think of the Future, Today

If you follow this golden rule, however, and only write content that you would actually want to read, you’ll be in a much better position in the long run.

You’ll be providing real, helpful content that your readers are actually looking for.

If you want to read more on why you should provide helpful content, see this post.

The point is simply that the do unto others logic applies to your online business.
