If you’ve ever looked for an online part time job, you know just how frustrating the process can be. I know I’ve personally spent countless hours searching through job posts, looking for a secondary income stream that fit my schedule while providing the level of income I wanted to meet my personal financial goals.
Eventually, I decided that working a second J-O-B in my spare time simply was not what I wanted or needed. I decided to take a leap of faith and start a part time affiliate business. While I wasted a little time before I got it going, it turned out to be the best decision I ever made, and soon became not just a part time, but full time source of income.
Here’s how you do it:
Step 1: Forget the Online Part Time Job
This is the most important and most difficult step to take. The “job” as you’re currently thinking about it probably doesn’t exist.
It’s increasingly difficult to find opportunities that meet your personal mix of work experience, background knowledge, financial goals, and personal flexibility. If you do find something, chances are it will be a contract position that only lasts for a few weeks or months, so you’ll be back on the job boards searching again soon. This is an immense waste of time.
The only real way (in my opinion) to be successful online is to build something for yourself. That way I know that every hour I work is working for my future, not desperately trying to find a next paycheck.
I’ll be the first one to admit that making this mental switch takes a leap of faith, but it can also be extremely rewarding. Read more about how to make 1000 dollars online in your spare time.
Step 2: Invest in Your Education
By education, I don’t mean gong back to school for another degree. The education you need to be successful online is specific and readily available.
There is a very distinct skill set you can use to hedge your blog or website towards success, and there are plenty of affordable training courses out there.
Step 3: Take Consistent Action
Taking action is the key to affiliate success. Personally, I believe action is the key to success in anything you do, online or offline, in your work life or your personal life.
That means that once you decide that building an online business is right for you, don’t delay! I spent months “thinking” about starting something before I actually did, and my only regret now is that I did not start the process sooner.
