Website owners that make money with affiliate program commissions form a four and a half billion dollar market every year.
That means that more than $4 billion is paid out in commissions to small website owners, just like you and me. It’s a tremendous opportunity. I, for one, would be more than happy with just 1/100th of 1 percent of that!
In this post I’ll go through the basics of how to make money with affiliate program offers.
Get A Website
If you don’t already have one, you need to start a website. A domain + hosting plan only costs around $30 a year, so it’s a small price to pay to setup your business.
Write Engaging Content
Success with affiliate marketing is all about your ability to connect with your readers.
The more you can engage with your readers, the more they will connect with you as an authority in the niche, and the more likely they’ll be to trust your opinions and share your content, which will ultimately lead to higher search rankings and more traffic.
Find Affiliate Products To Promote
To monetize that content, you need to find relevant affiliate products. I provide more details on this process here, but basically you can either browse for products on large affiliate networks like ShareASale, Commission Junction, Rakuten Linkshare, and Clickbank, leverage large retailers like Amazon or Walmart, or Google specific companies to partner with.
Rinse, Repeat, and Refine
Once you have those basics in place, you can just repeat the process until you meet your desired income goals.
One key thing to keep in mind, however, is that as you continue to produce new content and promote different products, you should always do so with an eye towards how you can improve your skills over time.
There are a lot of online marketing resources you can use to help you with specific problems, or you can work with a complete affiliate course.
